Broome’s Dinosaur Story in the WA Museum Boola Bardip

In the new WA Museum Boola Bardip, the Broome dinosaur story is the feature of the ‘Portals to the Past’ exhibit in the Wildlife Gallery on Level 3.  Four of our members enjoyed a special preview before the official opening and sent back very positive reports. There are to-scale replicas of dinosaurs, trackways that appear under your feet, a comprehensive coverage of Dr Steve Salisbury’s research, a dinosaur dreaming panel, and a panel that recognises the work DCMG does, which includes a QR code link to the Dinosaur Coast website.

Aiden, one our youngest members in Perth, filed this report:

As soon as I walked in the door I knew all my questions about dinosaurs were answered. 3D models of an enormous hanging sauropod and stegosaurus and their tracks were awesome!  I particularly loved the interactive trackway, which, when you walked on it, left a trackway of different dinosaurs. Too much to see in just one go.

Entry to the Museum is free for the first 18 months, but you have to book. So plan a visit and remember to allow plenty of time to check out the Broome Dinosaur story in ‘Portals to the Past’ Wildlife Gallery on Level 3.

There is also an option to have a guided family tour of the Dinosaur exhibition, which runs for approximately 1 hour.
